Waynetown - Austin Leroy Haas, 58, died at 12:10 p.m. Thurs in his home, 1004 Broadway, C'ville after a long illness. He had been in failing health 18 months his condition becoming serious two months ago. Mr. Haas was a son of Elmer and Ruth Mitchell Haas and was born Oct 22, 1907 near Elmdale. He was married Feb 1, 1930 to Evelyn Fruits at the home of the officiating minister, Rev. John R. Servies. He was a member of Alamo Christian Church. He farmed northeast of Waynetown for 28 years and was during the last 15 years employed also at Sommer Metalcraft Corp in Crawfordsville. Surviving are the wife, a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Haas Eppert of Crawfordsville, a sister, Mrs. Dorman Smith of Waynetown; six grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Preceding Mr. Haas in death were a brother and two grandchildren. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Sat at Servies Fun home here with burial in Waynetown Masonic Cem. Friends may call at the funeral home. Rev. Servies, who married the couple 34 years ago will be the minister for the services for Mr. Haas.
